Passion fruit from Hoyo del Higuerón

Covering letter to the delivery from Hoyo del Higuerón :

The passion fruit is not common in Europe since its origin is tropical. If you never tried it fresh, enjoy the first time! It won’t disappoint you!

I am very passionate to be part of the Tropiterranean movement. I have fought many years to make this dream come true: sending this magnificent fruit to the final consumer. I have personally chosen these pieces, which makes them even more special and unique.

You receive the fruits ready to eat. The plant itself chooses the exact moment of harvest since only when the fruit falls to the ground, it can be harvested. We do not collect the fruit from the plant as it would not have the proper flavour. You will see that the fruit wrinkles, do not worry, it is normal! In fact, it is better to consume the fruit when it is wrinkled since it is sweeter. I like to say that the uglier the fruit, the tastier it will be.

The best way to consume it is to cut it in half and use a spoon, just like that. Mix it with Greek yogurt, with desserts, in cocktails and juices. Its pleasant sweetness with a sour touch makes it perfect to pair with many recipes. See you in Malaga whenever you want. Thank you!

¿How to store the passion fruit?

At room temperature it can last up to 2 weeks. If you think you are not going to eat it within the first week or two, you can keep it in the refrigerator, where it can last up to 3-4 weeks or even freeze the pulp. Please check the fruit periodically so that it does not spoil.
