Covering letter to the delivery from Doña Amor:
We are happy to be able to send you your pistachios grown in Finca Dña. Amor, on the bank of the river Duero (Zamora). We are a family business dedicated to agriculture. We have been working our lands for more than 50 years. We invest in pistachio as an alternative crop to generate value in the region, while taking care of the environment and respecting our surrounding lands.
This has been a good year for pistachios, with many hours of uninterrupted sun and very scarce rainfall during the summer (that is pistachios’ favourite weather). The fruit has matured, filled, and opened really well; we harvested it in October and we took it to be peeled and dried, and then we picked the best ones to be able to send you only those that are open and full.
As you know, we grow our pistachios organically and we are currently a certified organic production. We do not use pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizer . Everything we use is natural products: we fertilize with organic sheep manure, we plant temporal vegetable covers to contribute with nitrogen to the land in a natural way, we use renewable energy for drip irrigation and for the consumption in the premises and we apply circular economy procedures to give value to the waste generated during the plantation.
